Strongly hydrophobic/superhydrophobic, with good protein binding capacity; suitable for membrane distillation, Western blot, and gas processing.
The membrane surface repels aqueous solutions, allowing gases and vapors to pass while blocking liquid penetration. This ensures stable performance in gas and steam filtration, tank breathing, and fermentation venting.
The membrane can operate continuously at temperatures up to 90°C, making it suitable for high-temperature liquid filtration and steam-related applications.
Based on the chemically inert PVDF substrate, the hydrophobic membrane remains resistant to most common organic solvents, acidic and alkaline solutions, and many oxidizing media.
The membrane provides efficient retention of bacteria and particulates, meeting the stringent requirements of sterile filtration and sterilizing-grade applications.
Hydrophobic PVDF membranes feature a symmetric pore structure with no additional support layer. The optimized pore channels allow gas to permeate freely while preventing liquid breakthrough. The membrane is available in pore sizes from 0.05 μm to 5.0 μm and widths of 254–280 mm. All products support autoclaving and gamma irradiation sterilization.
Through R&D and extensive field testing, we’ve developed a portfolio of UNM™ hydrophobic PVDF membranes designed for gas and steam filtration, high-temperature liquid filtration, solvent filtration, and HPLC/GC sample preparation. We also offer membrane discs in custom sizes for diverse applications.
